For the children

Well Nancy Pelosi has her way. We the cit zens of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA may be saddled with another 1 trillion dollar boondoggle brought to us by our government. I feel bad as I will not live to see what this administration has done to the United States. My children and grandchildren will. They will be paying for the inept, and arrogant ELECTED OFFICIALS of this country for a long time.
The politicians of this country are so far out of touch with the true American people it's sickening. The Harry Ried's, Barney Franks and we'll throw in the CEO's of Wall St who sure as HELL DON"T GET IT as well as the MAIN STREET MEDIA-they sold out long ago to the present government administration.
Yeah, just one old man who's voicing his opinion before they take that away. Wake up, wake up before it's to late. You are getting nothing and you will like it and the fact you say nothing tells me you like it.

Age

The older I get the crankier I get, comes with age I guess. the fact I'm around long enough to understand that nobody does anything for anyone with out a reason. If I run into a person who wants to better my life and do whats right for me A red flag goes up, when a person tells me he wants my vote so he can go to Washington and fight for me, I check for my wallet and bank account. As a wise man once said,"keep your friends close and your enemies closer."

When!

Nobody asked just wondering. When is Massachusetts or any other state going to name a building, arena, bridge or playground after a serviceman/women, police officer, fireman/women who is killed in the line of duty. Why all the accolades for just elected officials?
Lets start honoring those who lay their life on the line on a daily basis and pay the utimate price.
Is this too much to ask.

And they wonder why.

Rep. Michael Rodrigues who voted to raise tax on alcohol is bying his nectar of the Gods in New Hampshire. When questioned on this matter his arrogant reply is "None of your buisness!"
Hey Rodrigues when voting time comes and I'm asked who did I vote for my reply is "anyone running against Michael Rodrigues".
It's time you two faced, me first, and to hell with the puplic politicians are sent to the sidelines and left to wonder How do I get back onto the gravey train.
The politicians of this country need a very rude awaking. Health Care Reform i'm all for-ONLY IF I GET THE SAME PACKAGE THE SENATE AND CONGRESS GET. You want the American people to accept Obamas Helth Care Reform, give us your package. Start bring this up at all the TOWN HALL METTINGS and sit back and listen to the excuses as to why we the American Puplic can't get it.

Dodged a close one.

President Obama shot down the idea of a pay as you go. Secretary of Transportation La Hood wanted the citizens to pay a tax on how many miles they drove each year, To his credit, President Obama said "no, foget it."

Friday, February 20, 2009

They just won't stop.

The Transportation Secretary, Ray LaHood, wants to tax people on how many miles they drive.
"We should look at the vehicular miles program when people are actually clocked on the number of miles that they traveled."
So over the road truckers are taxed by how many miles they travel-the consumer will pay for goods at a higher price as the truckers will pass the tax unto us.
Taxi cabs will be raising their fares-passing the tax onto the consumer.
How about the transportation section-buses,trains and so forth will raise their fares to cover the cost of the"Mileage Tax"
The consumer who are already paying for road use through taxes each state takes out of our paycheck for road maintenance, tolls to help with the upkeep of roadways and bridges and now they want to tax us again. Just think how many miles you travel to work (round trip) minimum of 5 days a week (unless you work one of your days off- as in overtime)
The idea is starting to be accepted in Idaho, Rhode Island, North Carolina. Of course Massachusetts is all over it.
Think you can write this tax off when you file your tax's? How many politicians will ask for a per denim for travel?
Again the working person will be footing the bill.

Folks You Can't Make This Stuff Up-Udate.

According to Jerry Seper of the Washington Post " A federal jury on Tuesday afternoon ruled that an Arizona rancher did not violate the civil rights of 16 Mexican nationals he detained at gunpoint after they snuck illegally into the United States in 2204, but the jury awarded $78,000 in actual and punitive damages to six of the illegal immigrants on claims of assault and infliction of emotional distress."
Remember if you run into illegal immigrants on your property, offer them mike and cookies and assure them everything will be okay. Just be sure to clean up after them and fix anything they may destroy.

Don't Blame Me!

Now Clinton has jumped on the "not my fault,"bandwagon. The same wagon Barney Frank and Cris Dodds are on.
Once people get caught with their hand in the cookie jar denials start.
It is the fault of the cookie dough maker that I got caught with my hand in the cookie jar. Not buying that excuse? It is the fault of the cookie maker that I got caught with my hand in the cookie, not buying that excuse? How about this, if the cookie jar maker had placed a better locking device on the cookie jar, I wouldn't have got caught with my hand in the cookie jar. So you see it is not my fault it's someone else's. TRUST ME.

How Green Is Green?

T. Bone Pickens, the billionaire, has stated America has to be weaned off of foreign oil dependency. I for one agree with him.
Mr. Pickens has invested 12 billion dollars in wind farms in Texas. He has been pushing the concept for this alternate energy in hopes that it would catch on.
Even Nancy Pelosis ( Speaker of the House of Representatives) backs Mr. Pickens, she and her husband have invested $50,000-$100,000 dollars in Mr. Pickens company, Clean Energy Fuels Corporation or CLNE.
Nancy Pelosi has assured people who question her on the ownership of stocks in CLNE,( 22,000 shares) she would not be an influence on any legislation for alternate energy. President Obama is a big believer in alternate energy and would welcome any Green Technology. Energy will be getting some of the stimulus plan as of Tuesday when President Obama signs the bill . And speaking of Green Technology, General Electric is a leading supplier of Wind Turbines which may help GE if Wind Farms take off. As you know Jeff Immelt, the CEO of General Electric, is on President Obamas Advisory Committee. Green, green for some people.

Quote Of The Day.

The whole financial structure of Wall Street seems to rise or fall on the mere fact that the Federal Reserve Bank raises or lowers the amount of interest. Any business that can't survive a one percent change must be skating on thin ice.
Why even the poor farmer took a raise of ten percent just to get a loan from the bank, and nobody from the government paid any attention. But you let Wall Street have a nightmare and the whole country has to help to get them back into bed again.

Whats A Million.

In our world the word millions has become desensitized (to make somebody less responsive to an overwhelming fear by repeated exposure to the feared situation or object, either in natural or artificial circumstances) to the point it is not given thought.
Winning the Million Dollar Lottery, sports figures who sign million dollar contracts, million dollar construction projects, million dollar this, million dollar that, a million dollars just doesn't faze us anymore.
Now with the bailout billions has become the normal word, what does a billion dollars look like written out? $1,000,000,000.
Throwing around the word billion is becoming normal.
Bailout money has gone to;
AIG= $40,000,000,000 (40 Billion Dollars)
JPMorgan= $25,000,000,000 (25 Billion Dollars)
Citigroup= $25,000,000,000 (25 Billion Dollars)
Wells Fargo= $25,000,000,000 (25 Billion Dollars)
General Electric (finance unit)= $139,000,000,000 (139 Billion Dollars)
The list goes on and on, we have been hearing billions so often we don't even flinch.
The stimulus plan is going to cost the minimum $700,000,000,000 (700 Billion Dollars) and if you buy that I have ocean front property in Arizona I will let you have cheap.
We are heading onto paths we have never been on before. Where is all this money coming from? We say us, today's generation. Not so! It's going to be payed for by our children, our grand children, their children and their grand children.
What a mess we are leaving for future generations, and we have nobody to blame but ourselves.
We can try and throw everybody else under the bus, we can point the finger, we can blame the politicians but as we lay down for the night, one last look in the mirror and we can see where the real blame is.

And Then.

I tried to talk my wife into buying a case of beer for $14.95. Instead, she bought a jar of cold cream for $7.95.
I told her the beer would make her look better at night than the cold cream.
And then the fight started...

The Full Story.

Florida Civil Rights Association complain that the police had shown disregard for human life when they shot Angilo Freeland after an all-night manhunt.
Now for the story.
On 28 September 2006, Polk County Deputy Doug Speirs pulled over a speeding car driven by Angilio Freeland. Deputy Speirs was handed a false drivers license by Freeland. The Deputy felt something was not right and called for back up.
Deputy Matt Williams and his K-9 dog "DiOGi" arrived on scene.
Freeland thought things weren't going well at this point and broke away for the officers and ran into the woods.
Ironically, the traffic stop that escalated into Freeland's running into the woods could have gone another way if Freeland had known that a warrant that had been issued in 1999 for,not having a valid drivers license, reckless driving, aggravated fleeing to elude, resisting arrest without violence, and carrying a concealed weapon, had been dropped in 2005.
Deputys Willaims and Speirs split up and entered the woods in search of Freeland. Williams and his K-9 closed in on Feeland's hiding place, Freeland shot the K-9 in the chest and close range killing him. He then shot Deputy Williams wounding him in the right wrist, left bicep, rear left thigh, right leg, right buttock, and upper right arm. One of the shots had penetrated the officer's spine. Freeland approached the immobilized officer and placed two shots into the head of Deputy William's head at point blank range.
Deputy Speirs who heard the shots, moved toward the sound of the gunfire and was also shot by Freeland. After exchanging fire, the Deputy was wounded in the leg but managed to radio for help.
All units that were available arrived on scene. Freeland appeared at the edge of the woods and once again opened fire on the officers before disappearing into the woods.
Later that afternoon the body of Deputy Williams, a father of three was carried out.
It was not till the next morning that Freeland was located and a gun battle erupted. Freeland was killed in the shootout. Nine of the 10-member SWAT team fired on Freeland, hitting him 68 times of 110 shots.
Asked by the media why Freeland was shot 68 times, Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said,"That's all the bullets we had or we would have shot him more. Quite frankly, we weren't taking any chances."
In June of 2oo8, the U.S.Department of Justice announced it had cleared the Polk County Sheriff's Office of any wrong doing.
Sometimes the system does work.

Folks, you can't make this stuff up.

The Washington Times, Monday, February 9, 2009
By Jerry Seper

16 illegals sue Arizona rancher.

I am not going to write his story verbatim but here is the gist.
Roger Barnett, 64, a rancher in Arizona, found himself in a federal lawsuit, for $32 million dollars in actual and punitive damages for civil rights violations, the infliction of emotional distress and other crimes. It seems Mr. Barnett had caught the illegals on his property, held them at gun point and called the law.
The lawsuit is based on a March , 2004, incident on his 22,000-acre ranch.
The lawsuit was filed by the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF
The illegals were caught on Mr.Barnett's property after entering from Mexico to the United States illegally.
His ranch became an illegal-immigration highway when the Border Patrol diverted its attention to several border towns in order to take control of ports of entry. This effort moved the illegal immigrants to Mr. Barnett's ranch as a way to sneak into the United States.
Mr.Barnett has reported that some of his ranch's established immigrant trails were littered with trash 10 inches deep, including human waste, used toilet paper, soiled diapers, cigarette packs, clothes, backpacks, empty 1 gallon water bottles.
Mr.Barnett's attorney, David Hardy, had argued that illegal immigrants did not have the same rights as U.S. citizens. Illegal immigrants had started to vandalize his property, they tore up water pumps, killed calves, destroyed fences and gates, stole trucks and broke into his home.

Now comes the good part.
In March, U.S. District Judge John Roll rejected the motion by Mr.Barnett to have the charges dropped, ruling there was sufficient evidence to allow the matter to be presented to a jury.

Illegal-immigrants sneaking into the United States, destroying personal property, theft, breaking and entering and the judge rejects the motion to drop the law suit. What was the judge thinking, oh, I'm sorry, silly question.

QUOTE OF THE YEAR

"If self-regulation is ever going to work, we need to find ways to advertise it, reward it, and measure it. Currently, the SAC is doing none of the above. Every tool, every resourse, and every person has to be brought to bear in the fight against white-collar crime. Government has coddled, accepted, and ignored white-collar crime for too long. It is time the nation woke up and recognized that it's not the armed robbers or drug dealers who cause us the most economic harm. It's the white-collar criminals living in the most expensive homes and who have the most impressive resumes who harm us most. They steal our pensions, bankrupt our companies, and destroy thousands of jobs, ruining countless lives..."

Harry Markopolos in his testimony before the U.S. House of Representives on Wednesday, February 4, 2009.

Radio Talk Shows.

While on the way home from work last night I was listening to a talk show on the radio. Talk shows seem to be perking up the politicians as of late. And the question was asked,"If the government can invoke how much a CEO can make (if they had taken a bailout for their company) Will the government invoke how much a teacher can make, law enforcement can make, a construction worker can make or for that matter the amount of money anyone can make in any given field?
By invoking how much a CEO can make ($400.000.00) Will it apply as of now? Are the CEO's of bailout company's only allowed to make $400,000.00 this minute. Or will it start at a later date, or when another company applies for a bailout? Will it apply now? The were no calls to the talk show that could answer the question. Other then people calling in and stating that they were in favor of CEO's being limited on how much they can make. If they are in agreement with this, are they in agreement of how much they can make?

Not everything that happens in government is a conspiracy. Sometimes it is what it is. The point I was trying to make is this. Markopoulos brought evidence to the SEC office in Boston sometime in 2000. When he (Markopoulos) didn't get satisfaction he returned again with more evidence on Madoff's scheme. Why did the agents in the Boston office blow him off?
Because someone dropped the ball, people lives were ruined. You can rest assure the people in the SEC office in Boston and New York are trying to cover their behinds.
Was there an ego problem in Boston, that they knew better than Markopoulos and were not going to be told how to do their job? Did they say Yeah, yeah, we'll look into it and give the situation a quick look?
This Ponzi scheme was identified in 2000,but was not acted upon till 2009 when it blew up in the SEC face. Nine years (at least) of people being ruined because of incompetence by a few.

The Ponzi Scheme

W.C Fields said,"You can't cheat an honest man". But it's done daily.
The Ponzi scheme has been around for 89 years and you would think the Securities and Exchange Commission would be aware of such schemes. Why did they not heed Harry Markopoulos warning that there was something wrong in Madoffs investments? The information was given to the SEC as far back as 2000?
The people directly involved in the investigation of Madoff should be the ones trying to give the answers. The Agents in Boston and New York should be the ones in the hot seat.
Now that the SEC has been exposed as being a little incompetent, how many othere schemes will they expose. How aggressive is SEC going to be? What procedures are now going to be followed?
I bet there are plenty of schemes out there to keep the SEC working hard to find them, that is before someone else tells them where to look.

Why do politicians say they are going to fix everything, but when elected to office they state" I didn't know things were as bad as as they are!'
My question is " Where are the one thousand police officers Duval promised he would hire for Mass." His statement not mine. But then again the people of Masa. bought what a politician wented them to buy.

An they say it's not GREED.

Manny Ramirez turns down 25 million dollars for, say five months of playing baseball, because he wants more. And I am to beleive that it's not GREED it's just buisness. I don't care how great a hitter he is Manny is not worth the price.
If the Dodgers sign him what happens when he doesn't want to stay, will he get hurt? Not want to play on a certian day and would rather sit? Would need a day off from such a cruling schedule of BASEBALL? Oh well, just another "That's Manny".

With the money of Presidents Obama's Ingugration Ball, what could have been bought for those in need.
Let's do it the way the media did when they broke down the money spent on George Bushs Ingugration.
The House lawmakers are stating that the Securities and Exchange Commission are failing to cooperate with a committee probe into the Madoff scam. What else is new?
If they want the SEC cleaned up why not hire Harry Markopolos, the individual who warned the SEC in Boston and New York of the Madoff scam. This goes back as early as 2000. Mr. Markopolos was ignored by the SEC except for SEC Boston employee Ed Manion who understood the Madoff scam.
Hey Washington want somebody who can run the SEC??? Try Harry Markopolos.
Hello from the man in the trench. The man who goes to work everyday, the man who pays tax's. The man who is bamboozled by people in power. The man who supports the people in power with his tax dollar.
I was looking forward to retirement but as of this date I see it is not possible. Our politicians have seen to that. The well educated individual that we send to Washington to watch out for our interest has been looking out for the interest of lobbist and special interest groups and not the people of their districts . The Barney Franks and Paulsons have not taken the responsibility of the downfall of the housing market and the news media can not be trusted with the truth as they have forgotten what thier role is in reporting and investigation . Can someone explain to me why there is not a big up roar over the way Washington's power elite have driven us to the edge of ruin?
When will the madness end?
The people of the United States have the power yet they don't use it. What is the power? It is the power of vote! We put them in office we can vote them out of office. Why do we bow when a elected official comes into our view? Why do we fall all over ourselves when a elected offical walks by? Should it not be the other way around?
When did we allow the turnaround to take place? It's time that our elected officials to start listening and do our will. It's time for the American people to hold our Congressman and women, our Senators feet to the fire and let them know that at the voting pole how we feel, do a good job your in, bad job your out.
This is my first posting and I can assure you not my last. I will give the view from my end, the hourly worker who works two jobs to make ends meet thanks to our elected officials who will not listen to the blue collar worker.
